Yoga means Union.
We believe that although we are first and foremost a premiere, high quality Yoga Studio serving the Yoga Community of East Brainerd, that we are UNITED with our community. We want to spread the sense of Unity by participating in events bigger than just our studio. Therefore, starting in 2017, Yoga East will celebrate our community and partner with area non-profits to help make a difference, to promote positive change, and to make the world a better place, right here at home. We will do that by hosting monthly “Donation Based” yoga classes taught by senior teachers as well as our graduating Teacher Trainees. These classes will be held on Friday night at 6:30 and are completely donation based–100% of the proceeds will be saved throughout the year and then be directly given to the sponsored non-profit of the quarter.

Yoga for Youth Villages
In 2018, Yoga East started partnering with and sponsoring events to raise money for local non-profit, Youth Villages. A part of a larger organization, Youth Villages helps to educate and locate foster families for our areas's most serious needs. Yoga East believes every child should have a home and a family to love and support them, which is why we wanted to help raise awareness and funds for this amazing organization. In addition, since May is Foster Care Awareness month, Yoga East will be hosting a special event in partnership with El Meson (a local Mexican Restaurant) and hosting a Free Yoga Class in studio followed by Cinco De Mayo Snacks while we learn exactly what it is our friends at Youth Villages do on a daily bases. We invite you to join our fun event, have delicious local food, and learn!! In addition, several Yoga East Teacher Trainees will be providing a totally free Restorative Yoga Class to the parents of these amazing families. Come, join our free classes this spring and help support such an amazing cause!
Goat Yoga with Mending Arrow Ranch
This year for St. Patrick's Day, Yoga East Studio and Teacher Trainees spent the afternoon leading the community through Goat Yoga! This event was held at our newest Community Partner, Mending Arrow Ranch. Mending Arrow Ranch is a local ministry dedicated to the rehabilitation of children with special needs and teenage girls through animal husbandry, specifically horses. The studio and all our amazing friends and family successfully raised $1300 for this incredible organization through two completely sold out Yoga Classes held at the ranch. We can't wait for the next set of Goat Babies to get here so we can do it again, and hopefully raise even more money!! Keep an eye on our website and social media, because this event is SURE to come back again!

Yoga in Schools Pilot Project
In the fall of 2017 we began a 6 week program with the Washington Alternative Learning Center of Hamilton County. Our goal is to introduce these Junior High and High School students to Yoga; its physical and mental practices, to provide them with alternative means of dealing with stress, pressures and life. Our hope is to introduce these students to the belief that they are beautiful, more than capable gifts to this world. Our very own Beth Daugherty RYT 500 and Missy Crutchfield (soon to be RYT 200) are leading the efforts and making real change in these young students lives. A very special thanks goes to our community partner, Mantra Style for providing 10 first quality yoga mats for these incredible students.
Kitten Yoga
After the tragic and horrible hurricanes of the summer of 2017, Yoga East partnered with The Wellness Corner and Nutrition World of Chattanooga to host another fabulous Kitten Yoga fund raiser. In one class, we raised $1000 for the Hurricane Refugees McKamey helped rescue.

The Tennessee Humane Animal League's Pet Placement Center
For our very first partnership, We accepted donations of items for which the Pet Placement Center has highlighted as a need for the first quarter of 2017 and donated ALL proceeds from our monthly events. Finally, on April 22nd, and associated with our 7th Birthday party, we hosted two SPECIAL SOLD OUT Donation classes, "Kitten Yoga!" The Pet Placement Center brought several kittens to the studio (all available for adoption!) and we had a playful, fun, relaxed afternoon of yoga and kitten cuddles! This event raised $1000 with over two car trunk loads of goods for the animals!
Do you have a cause you think we could help?
Yoga East is always looking to partner with area non-profits and groups that are trying to make a difference in our community. If you have any ideas or events, or groups that need help, please let us know! We love to GIVE BACK!
