Anyone that practices yoga will know just how much energy it can bring. Indeed, make it a part of your regular schedule, and it won’t be long before you’re beginning to feel the energy-boosting powers of yoga! However, while yoga will take you some of the way, you can’t expect it to be your only source of energy. That’s especially true if you only have time for one or two classes a week. In this blog, we’re going to take a look at some of the most effective methods for pumping your energy to the max.

Alternatives to Coffee
There’s no denying that coffee brings energy. However, it’s important to remember that caffeine actually just causes a spike in energy; once you’ve hit that peak, you’ll begin to crash. If you’ve ever hit that mid-afternoon slump after drinking a few cups of coffee, then what you experienced was a caffeine crash. While coffee is everywhere and always promoted, it is possible to live without it. Give it up for a week or so, and you’ll begin to find that you have more energy. If you still need your dose of energy, then look at drinking a reishi-based drink, or one of my new favorites, Cocoa Bliss, which is just 35 calories and tastes like cocoa deliciousness, or eating an apple can also help! All will give energy without the slump.
Resting Well
Coffee will also make it more difficult to fall and stay asleep too. And if you’re going to have all the energy you need to be at your brilliant best, then you need a full night’s sleep under your belt! More people than ever are struggling to reach the land of Nod, and it’s not hard to see why — these are strange times that we’re living through. There are plenty of things you can do to help yourself, however. Using a CBD sleep aid, minimizing the amount of time you spend on your devices before bed, and creating a relaxing environment in the bedroom will all help. Getting a full 6 – 8 hours of sleep can make such a big difference!
Try Pilates!
Just like you’ve got to spend money to make money, you always have to exert energy to make energy. While the idea of putting on your sneakers and going for a run might not sound all that appealing when you’re tired, an alternative that isn’t hard on your joints, can help get you stronger and more flexible and is now available right here at Thrive, is Pilates Apparatus sessions! You’ll leave the house tired and severely lacking in energy, but when you return, you’ll feel completely refreshed, taller, stronger and dare we say, more toned?!? If you really want to maximize the energy benefits of Pilates (and why not?), then look at taking a cold shower. It doesn’t sound pleasant (and it’s not), but you’ll feel amazing when you get out. This is a tactic my husband swears by, but I have yet to actually participate in because I basically feel like I live in an ice box! 🙂
Light Meals
Finally, look at what you’re eating. Do you know how everyone falls asleep after a large Thanksgiving meal? Many of us do more or less the same thing, on a smaller scale, every single day. Rather than filling your plate with a mountain of food, look at having lighter meals — it’s better to have four small meals during the day than a couple of big ones!
