Hi everyone! I have been doing yoga for about 15 years and am still learning everyday. I started out practicing for muscle and back tension due to a sedentary and stressful job as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Now I practice, not just for the physical relief, but for the mental and emotional calming as well. I particularly enjoy teaching yoga to those who have chronic mental health challenges such as mood disorders. I want my students to leave the class feeling more at peace with themselves and their lives, despite the craziness of the world around them. I read a quote recently from Martin Luther King, Jr. that can be a challenge for all of us: “If you can’t fly, then run; if you can’t run, then walk; if you can’t walk, then crawl, but whatever you do, you have to keep moving forward.” Yoga is an enjoyable way to keep moving forward!
