Linda McIntyre RYT 500

I was born and raised an army brat as it is called now.  We lived on army bases in different states and then in Germany! My father retired after 25 years  in the service and moved our family to Kingsport Tennessee. His dream was for all four of us to go to college since the war prevented him and my mom from going. I came to the University of Chattanooga and obtained a degree in psychology and elementary education. I taught first grade one year and then began to teach students who were blind or visually impaired. In my last ten years of teaching the deaf students were added to my caseload too.

During all this I married a wonderful man and had three daughters and one son. And just to top it off I ran races and taught step aerobics, kickboxing, cycling and weight classes at the YMCA.

In 2005 after my beloved father died, I attended my first yoga class at the YMCA, and so began my yoga journey! In 2012 Asheville yoga Center sent teachers to Chattanooga once  a month and I completed my 200 hour training.  I also started teaching the yoga for arthritis class at Yoga East in 2012. I recently finished my 500 hour training as well.
I love teaching yoga and seeing students moving, stretching and finding calmness and peace to carry through their days.
