How to Beat Stress Naturally with Yoga and Acupuncture
Whether we like to think about this or not, but we are getting close to the holidays.
Here at Thrive we have already begun our very first #last90days challenge. It's all about staying strong through the end of 2019 and helping to keep us all on track for our personal goals and towards good health while providing the education and accountability to see it through to the end. Ya'll, 2020 is COMING. WE have less than 90 days until a NEW DECADE! don't wait til 2020 to START your journey to health and wellness, start NOW. Join us in our challenge and learn how you can end this year better than you started!
This article is all about helping you do JUST THAT.
You may or may not know this about me, but I don’t believe in deprivation.
- I am a TERRIBLE dieter, and
- I don’t deal well when I’m deprived of sleep (or chocolate for that matter.)
That’s why the goal of the challenge wasn't to even consider saying NO to anything in this last part of the year.
Rather, it was to saying YES to all of the things we KNOW that are good for us (extra water for me please!) in an effort to “Crowd out” the stuff that isn’t good for us
Part of the “Stuff” that isn’t good for you and me? That’s STRESS.
The last 90 days of the year has a LOT of stress associated with it, with all the holidays, shopping, parties, family gatherings, and dare I say it is stressful when it’s cold outside (or is it just me?!?!)
To help us stay on track for our Last 90 Days Challenge, I invited Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Doctor Jes Dwyer to share a little bit about stress and what it does to our bodies, and how you and I can use TCM to help reduce and even eliminate some of the trauma that stress does to our bodies. Jes wrote a super informative post about Stress and TCM just for us!
Stress has a pretty nasty way of working into daily life and the long term effects can actually be devastating.
That’s why, just in time for the holidays, Jes Dwyer is going to partner with our very own Evangeline Blair for a super stress-busting evening dedicated to helping us not just FEEL better but BE BETTER with a 90 minute workshop combining Restorative Yoga and Acupuncture specifically for stress!
This workshop really can’t come at a better time, right before the Hustle and Bustle of the Holidays gets into full swing, come, join two masters at their trade as they help you to unwind, de-stress, and feel AMAZING. The workshop is October 18th at 6:30. It includes a 60 minute Restorative Yoga class with a 30 minute Community Acupuncture Treatment session with optional fire cupping session available afterward.
I invite you to stay connected, stay motivated, stay accountable to yourself and to your family. Come celebrate a little self-care time with a few of your favorite Thrive Tribe members as we #staystrong through 2019 and beat that stress!
Here is another opportunity to read Jes’ article on Stress and Chinese Medicine.
When you’ve read this, be sure to come back and reserve your spot in our first Restorative Yoga and Acupuncture for Stress workshop to get prepped for the holidays!
