Back bends, really? YES REALLY!

Back bends-notoriously get a bad rap. Why? Because they are hard, because our back muscles aren't strong, because they can, if done incorrectly really hurt.

In this workshop, we will learn about the relationship between our backs and our hips and pelvis and how all the muscles in this area work together to create a strong posture, and, dare we say it, calm and pleasant experience even while back bending?

Discover safe and effective ways to practice backbends and hip openers of various levels that will help to strengthen all the muscles of the back, while working on the mobility of the hips to help you keep the aches and pains" at bay.

Let's learn how to strengthen, stretch, bring wellness and functional movements together in this experiential workshop good for people of all levels.

The cost is $100

Malas Mantra and Meditation

Suzanne Sabourin

21st March 2020 3:00 PM - 5:30 PM

Join Suzanne Sabourin for an afternoon learning and creating the PERFECT Malas.

WHAT ARE MALA BEADS?

Mala is the Sanskrit word for garland. Simply being in the presence of Mala Beads is powerful. These sacred beads are commonly used in the spiritual practice of Japa Meditation. Malas have 108 beads. The beads are counted by hand while reciting, chanting, or repeating a chosen mantra or intention. They are also deeply devotional, and can be used while repeating sacred names or words like Om, Shanti, I am Love and I am Peace.

Join us at Thrive Yoga and Wellness with Suzanne Sabourin RYT, as we dive into a deeper understanding of mantra and spiritual healing during this Mala bead stringing workshop.

Learn how to make your own Mala beads, the significance behind them, and the benefits of Japa, mantra and meditation.

Basic yoga philosophy will be covered during this fun, artistic and informative experience.

Your tuition includes materials for the malas we will create and is $45.  We will create our own Malas while we learn about the ancient art during this interactive workshop.
