Thrive Yoga and Wellness Expands!

By Jennifer Dixon MBA ERYT 500

It’s official!  Thrive Yoga and Wellness (formerly Yoga East) has MOVED!  Monday, 9/3/18, while most of America was taking a day off to rest from their labors, your Thrive Community got together to help move us from our home of nearly 8 years, in Suite 109, to our new home, in Suite 117.

In what could easily be the easiest move on the planet, we didn’t have to pack any boxes, we just picked up our stuff, walked two doors south, and moved into the new space that IS Thrive Yoga and Wellness.  This move is the culmination of nearly two years of searching, praying, meditating, and incubating. Thrive truly is the embodiment of its name…

Miriam Webster defines Thrive as an intransitive verb. 1: to grow vigorously: flourish. 2: to gain in wealth or possessions: prosper. 3: to progress toward or realize a goal despite or because of circumstances

I absolutely LOVE this word –it’s meaning.

Thrive Yoga and Wellness chooses to flourish.  It’s a choice. Like the definition –progress toward a goal of growth and vigor because of circumstance.

The choice to Thrive isn’t always easy.

Oh my goodness, can I get an AMEN?  The health and wellness industry is saturated with products and services and yet, the choice was made to Thrive, and you were a part of it!

I am honored and humbled and so very grateful for YOUR choice to come and Thrive with me.

You make the choice every time you come to practice to Thrive.  You look at the circumstances surrounding your day–whatever they may be, and you make the choice to come to the studio, step on to your mat, and you breathe.  You move and breathe and for 1 hour you are completely and totally focused on creating a life that Thrives.

It leaves you feeling amazing…

For those of you that haven’t had a chance to get into the studio yet, I wanted to share a few photos of the new space, so you’ll feel right at home from the moment you walk in.

You’ll notice a lot of similarities between our new space and our old space, which is true in all growth–not all growth is complete metamorphosis–like a  caterpillar to butterfly–growth is subtle, and takes time. Sometimes it is so imperceptible that you don’t notice it is happening until you have a completely grown toddler who doesn’t need you to help him eat anymore (or so he thinks…)

Here’s a photo of where the Juice and Smoothie bar will be:

Sometimes growth–Thriving–takes a little more time than anticipated….I know as a kid, I wanted to grow up SOOOO bad!  At the time, I wanted to be a WNBA star and I knew the shortest member was 5’7” so I prayed and prayed to get to that height…God knew what he was doing because he stopped me at 5’6” and told me to keep growing in other areas.  The juice and smoothie bar is coming, it’ll just be a little bit before it gets here.

Here’s a photo of the hall to our studios.

Sometimes growth includes additions to your life that wasn’t exactly planned, but beautiful supplements that make flourishing even better.  In this case, our new studio has 2 practice rooms (YAY!)–and totally planned for, but it ALSO includes two amazing healers, Jamie Jackson of The Mi Lu Center and Ashley Ellis of Illuminate with Ashley.  Although I always knew we’d be flourishing within the community, I never knew exactly what that looked like, and I can’t tell you enough how thrilled I am to have the support of these two beautiful women.

I hope that you’ll get the chance to come into the studio and practice with us very soon.  I know you’ll love the space every bit as much as I do, and I want you to know how thankful I am that you make the choice every day to THRIVE.  It’s an honor and a privilege to Thrive with you.

If you ever need anything, please don’t hesitate to reach out, I’m just a phone call or email away.
