When you google the word Thrive, this is what you get:

“the new baby thrived”
prosper; flourish.
“education groups thrive on organization”

When trying to decide on a name that would convey the significance of what I dreamed that this studio could become (and already is) — many, MANY options were mulled over. In fact, it was the topic of discussion, over wine, clearly, for MONTHS.

It’s hard, naming something–your child, your pet, your business—you want to be sure to catch the essence of what you think that person, animal, or entity is and will become. With a business, SOOO many “other” factors come into play as well. Factors like –will it look good on a logo, will it automatically rank well with Search Engines, will the name be something that people will identify with? Seriously, it took MONTHS to come up with this name.

Then, as often happens when divine inspiration hits…I was having a conversation with a teacher here on staff, Kathryn and we were talking about the significance yoga practice can make–for seniors, for children–for every BODY, and I said something about it being my dream to help people to learn how to not just breathe to live, but breathe to THRIVE. That was it. It hit me like the proverbial ton of bricks.

Thrive Yoga and Wellness was born.

That’s it. Thrive Yoga and Wellness is my dream. I want each and every person that walks into this studio and has the opportunity to practice with us, to receive healing treatments from us, or to partake in nourishing juices or smoothies (and even coffee–because, let’s face it, coffee is essential) from us–I want each experience to help every individual to Thrive…to flourish.

I believe this place can do just that.

Thrive Yoga and Wellness has a long history in Chattanooga. Eight years to be exact. Almost a decade of being a place that brings peace, strength, health, and so much more. My vision is that Thrive continues to build on this history and truly be a place where each person learns to not just survive, but to THRIVE.

Over the next few weeks, as we finish making the vital decisions that will make the physical space perfect (thank you for voting!), I want to invite you and your family and friends to come and experience what it is like to practice with us. I invite you to experience the intention of living a life that Thrives. I hope that you will make the commitment to yourself and to your family that you will not merely survive, but you will Flourish, Bloom, Grow –to THRIVE right here with us.
